Retail, OEM or generic: what kind of Windows 11 key are you buying?

Two Windows 11 keys can look identical in a listing and behave completely differently once you use them. This is the difference that decides whether your purchase is still worth something in three years, and it is the first thing worth checking anywhere you shop.

• Retail license. This is what Mr Key Shop supplies. Windows 10 support has ended: what that means for you
